Yellow Lady's-slippers

These plants were part of a cluster of 200 or so growing in the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. These are locally much less common then the related pink lady's-slippers. These plants are almost impossible to transplant as they have a symbiotic relationship with micro-organisms in the soil. Enjoy them where they are and leave them undisturbed.
